Job Description

The essential function of the position is to provide complex and high level administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to the assigned General Magistrate. This position is responsible for handling a high volume of cases and case inquiries, and prepares, tracks, and maintains statistical reports and correspondence.  The position involves communication and interaction with judges and judicial staff, pro-se litigants, attorneys and their staff, case managers, clerks, as well as the general public. The position works under general supervision independently developing work methods and sequences.

 

Education and Training Guidelines

Education – High school diploma or GED and two years of college or vocational school education in paralegal, secretarial skills, computer operations, or a closely related field.  Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Experience – Two years of related work experience, Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.

Certification and Special Requirements – Valid Florida State Driver’s License required.
