About the role

Description

Summary


To manage the daily operations of the wire department including entry and posting of incoming and outgoing wire both Domestic and Foreign. Responsibilities will include management of the wire department employees as well as working with other departments to resolve wire issues. Developing and implementing efficient processes and procedures within the department as well as working with vendors to improve processes and products. Job may include working on days the bank is closed but the Federal Reserve is open.


This position will be in-office at a location agreed upon and available within the company footprint with a strong preference for the Northshore or Southshore offices.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the training of new employees
  • Manage Wire Clerks to ensure job functions are being performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Manage the staffing for the department employees to ensure adequate department coverage.
  • Work with other departments and employees to assist in the efficient processing of wire transfers and resolving wire issues.
  • Assist as needed with input, verify and release of incoming and outgoing wire transfers.
  • Develop, document and maintain department procedures.
  • Ensure employees stay up to date with assigned training assignments, regulatory requirements and complete employee evaluations.
  • Handle audit requests.
  • Manage special projects within the department.

Requirements


Skills/Experience/Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 5 or more years Wire processing experience, management skills preferred
  • Proficient on computer (Bank applications, Internet, MS Word & Excel)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to Multitask
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized
  • Adhere to deadlines
  • Bilingual a plus

Essential Mental & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions. 
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
