The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
Assists patients, staff and providers as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population. Responsible for supervising and coordinating operations of assigned departments. Provides direct patient care in the clinical setting. Acts as a patient and employee advocate, works cooperatively with physicians and assures communications with and among staff and managers in accordance with the Sharp Rees-Stealy mission and goals statements.
Required Qualifications
- 3 Years RN experience in related clinical area.
- Leadership experience.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

- Bachelor's Degree
- Management experience in ambulatory care.
Essential Functions
- Budget development and adherence
Develop and implement the budget for assigned departments.
Maintain cost efficiency to achieve budget results in regards to supply orders, staffing and equipment.
Monitors monthly trends and financial performance.
Ensures equipment and personnel requirements are identified and included for budget consideration. - Department efficiency and effectiveness
Staffing-Ensures appropriate level of staffing (flex up and down) and assesses requests for time off (including breaks, late/early arrivals/departures and vacations). Works with Staffing Specialist to ensure coverage and/or provide adequate alternatives. Maintains attendance records on staffing and ensures attendance and overtime compliance. Monitors level of staffing to ensure appropriate service delivery.
Timecards-Collects time cards and checks for accuracy, prepares for approval and submits to payroll by deadline. Monitors and tracks overtime/NB.
Employee Certification- Organizes and maintains nursing licenses and staff certifications to ensure current validity.
Daily Organization/Effectiveness-Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages in the department. Monitors patient flow, provider schedules and completion of daily tasks in the department to ensure quality and service standards.
Policy & Procedure-Monitors policy and procedure compliance within the department. Implements procedural changes, such as new protocols, and educates staff to changes. May maintain policy and procedures manuals and/or sit on Policy and Procedure Committee relevant to department functions and front desk operations. - Human resource management
New Hires and Orientation: Completes initial screening interview and involves appropriate provider(s) in final hiring decision. Completes paperwork and submits training calendar and skills roster within 90 days. Oversees orientation of new employees to assure appropriate clinical performance and service delivery.
Staff Training and Development: Schedules and coordinates clinical and technical in-services, customer service in-services, mock codes and pharmacy fairs. Provide ongoing clinical and service support and supervision.
Corrective Action: Coaches and utilizes corrective action with employees in a pro-active, legally acceptable manner compatible with company policy. Documents corrective action and communicates to manager as appropriate.
