Position Overview
The incumbent is responsible for managing and supporting the audiovisual needs of the department. This role involves the planning, implementation setup, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment and systems in support of department’s day-to-day operations, events, meetings, and presentations. The coordinator ensures high-quality audio and visual experiences, troubleshoots technical issues and provides training and technical support to staff. Additionally, this position is required to stay updated on the latest audiovisual technologies and trends, making recommendations for upgrades and improvements, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations to support the agency's communication and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Develops and updates the audiovisual (AV) asset inventory tracker to ensure proper tracking of information technology (IT) assets.
- Conducts asset performance reviews including annual inventory reviews with business areas to ensure AV assets are both operational and available for department use.
- Works closely with the IT Operations Specialists to assist with IT asset inventory tracking and control requirements to ensure proper inventory and storage of equipment and digital assets.
- Assists business areas with the setup, troubleshooting and maintenance of computer-based audio-visual solutions, including video conferencing, teleconferencing, webcasting, video streaming, video on demand, kiosks, and video displays throughout the department.
- Supports installation of media equipment such as LCD projectors, speakers, TVs, video monitors, and cameras in designated conference rooms and training areas to include room alterations as needed.
- Provides outstanding customer service and develops working relationships with business areas to ensure a high level of customer service and teamwork. Includes strong communication skills to keep progress moving forward and put department liaisons and event coordinators at ease.
- Provides training and guidance to department staff on equipment use practices and develops Quick Reference Guides (QRG) to ensure users are knowledgeable of technology usage and limitations.
- Stays updated on the latest advancements in audiovisual technology and makes recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
- Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
