Pathologist, Cancer Biology and Therapy Resistance Research (Assistant Professor)

Summary

The Yang lab in the Department of Pathology and Immunology is offering a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and enthusiastic Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) to contribute to research related to cancer biology and therapy resistance. Yang lab recently pioneered the research on MAPK4 biology in human cancers. The candidate will carry out the in-depth studies to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying MAPK4 and other molecules in regulation of human cancers. Primary activities include carrying out molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays and characterizing transgenic/knockout models and xenograft models.

Job Duties

• The candidate is required to work independently and collaboratively to carry out assigned research projects, gain comprehensive knowledge in the related field/literatures, properly design the experiments, collect and analyze experimental data, report to the PI weekly, and prepare manuscripts under the guidance of the PI.
• The position is in the Yang Lab focusing human cancer research in the Department of Pathology and Immunology.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a Ph.D. and/or MD degree and previous working experience in the related research field, especially cancer biology.
