About the role

The Senior People Partner will serve as the primary HR partner to a Squarespace business department, acting as a trusted advisor and coach to the department's people leaders and managers regarding all facets of the employee lifecycle. You will act as a strategic advisor, driving initiatives that support talent management, organizational health, workforce planning, and compensation strategy, with a focus on the unique needs of the respective team. You will bring experience in the tech industry, demonstrating an understanding of the innovative nature of product development.

By leveraging workforce analytics and insights, you will collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions that align with company priorities, foster an inclusive culture, and support the business department's strategic goals. You are a seasoned HR professional capable of balancing strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on execution.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office. You will report to the Senior Manager, Principal People Partner.

You'll Get To…

Strategic Advisory:

  • Act as the main HR partner to the department's leaders and managers throughout the respective department, providing coaching on performance management, professional development, inclusive leadership, employee relations, and compensation planning.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to manage and implement change initiatives that drive a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on HR matters, including employee relations, investigations, leaves of absence, and compliance, tailored to the department's team dynamic needs.

Talent and Organizational Health:

  • Leverage data on attrition, engagement, and market trends to execute talent management strategies that align with Product team priorities.
  • Partner with department leadership to identify and develop high-potential employees, supporting succession planning and professional growth within the department.
  • Design and implement engagement and development programs to enhance team dynamics, collaboration, and retention.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to facilitate programs focused on leadership development and skill building within the Product organization.

Workforce Planning:

  • Lead strategic headcount planning with leaders to identify future talent needs, assess workforce capabilities, and determine headcount requirements based on business goals.
  • Leverage workforce analytics and insights, such as turnover rates, performance metrics, and growth trends, to recommend headcount adjustments and optimize team structures.
  • Support internal career progression for open roles within department, balancing recruitment efforts with internal mobility and succession planning.

HR Program Execution:

  • Lead or co-lead HR initiatives and projects addressing department-specific needs while contributing to broader company objectives.
  • Execute HR programs related to performance management, organizational health, talent planning, and position management, specifically for the department.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards to guide department leaders on compensation philosophy and performance management compensation cycles.

Operational Excellence:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for process efficiency and innovation, partnering with Product leadership to maximize impact and drive alignment with company goals.
  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, FP&A, and Principal People Partner on headcount planning, internal mobility, and hiring efficiencies across the organization.
  • Manage mid-to-high-risk employee relations issues, collaborating with the ER CoE and Legal, as needed, to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

Analytics and Insights:

  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to guide talent planning, engagement, and retention strategies within the department.
  • Use data-driven insights to measure the impact of initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.

Who We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience, including dedicated experience as an HR Business Partner supporting department leadership and people managers.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience in the tech industry is strongly preferred, with a proven ability to support fast-paced, innovative teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR strategies tailored to both department-specific and company-wide goals, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
