Technology Services is on the hunt for a passionate and innovative Software Developer III to play a key role in supporting the university’s Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI), working on the Texas Indigent Defense Commission (TIDC) and Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA) projects. This is your chance to contribute to public service through support of these initiatives. TIDC funds, oversees, and improves public defense throughout the State of Texas, while MVCPA has fostered a statewide cooperative network of law enforcement groups, prosecutors, insurance industry representatives, local tax assessor-collectors, and concerned citizens to combat vehicle theft and burglary through enforcement, prevention, public information, and education initiatives. As a Software Applications Developer III, you will collaborate with end users throughout the entire development process, spanning from conceptualization and application deployment to ongoing maintenance and support. You will be working on the TIDC web application and MVCPA projects, involving external customer communication, managing expectations, and meeting hard deadlines. The development environment is dynamic. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of programming languages, including PHP and Laravel, ASP.NET, and even a little classic ASP. Design, implement, test, and maintain our web-based applications
Provide technical assistance to our customers
Document systems procedures and guidelines
Actively participate in quality assurance
Participate in collaborative team software design
Meet with customers and technical staff to determine their needs and requirements
Engage in IT trainings and professional development activities

Salary - $73,000
This opportunity is an onsite position here in College Station, Texas.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND 5 years of software development experience
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Strong interpersonal skills<
