BASF’s Coatings division is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings.  In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation and technical support to execute the plan for ECoat Paste production. You will also demonstrate strong leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies.  

 

You will play an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimizing cycle times, providing process expertise, and working with maintenance for timely resolution of production issues. Additionally, you will lead troubleshooting efforts and provide solutions when problems arise.

You create chemistry by...

 

• Partnering with Operations to maintain safe operation of ECoat Paste processes.
• Identifying and leading projects to de-bottleneck and/or otherwise improve cost/processes.
• Providing troubleshooting support, including off-hours support, for processes to safely resume production.
• Being called upon to troubleshoot and improve batch execution and related automation.
• Assisting and supporting the Production Supervisor to maintain safe operation and reliability of the plant.
• Clearly communicating processes and requirements to site personnel and as part of projects.
• Providing technical guidance and root cause analysis facilitation for investigations.
• Demonstrating technical responsibility for all plant trials in ECoat Paste.
• Delivering solutions for recurring process issues.

If you...

 

• Have Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and 2 years general manufacturing expertise or Mechanical Engineering degree and two years chemical manufacturing expertise.
• Experience in chemical production.
• Have solid computer skills and DeltaV automation (preferred).
• Familiarity with process equipment and instrumentation.
• Have solid problem-solving skills, including experience in root cause failure analysis.
• Possess a solid understanding of Process Safety Concepts (including PSM) and familiarity with EHS procedures/standards.
• Have excellent communication skills/interpersonal understanding.
