Job Overview
Shriners Children's Philadelphia is looking for a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Competitive candidates will have experience working with pediatric patients. Schedule will be 4 10-hour weekday shifts with no nights, weekends, or call. Compensation will vary depending on individual experience, education, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
Provides quality aesthesia care for elective and emergency cases under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist. The responsibilities include induction, maintenance, and emergence at a safe and required level for the procedure and in appropriate response to the patient's age, size and medical condition. The responsibilities of this position include considering the needs of infant, toddler, pre-school, school age, adolescent and young adult patients.
- Administer anesthetics, adjuvant and accessory drugs, fluids and blood products to manage anesthesia
- Administers anesthesia, drugs, fluids and blood products in a safe manner (ASA standards)
- Perform all aspects of airway management
- Performs mask ventilation and laryngoscopy in a competent manner.
- Obtain, prepare and use equipment monitors, supplies and drugs used for administration of anesthesia, performing and ordering safety checks, as needed
- Performs anesthesia machine safety checks prior to administering anesthesia. Prepares anesthesia equipment, supplies, and drugs prior to start of anesthesia.
- Recognize abnormal patient response during anesthesia, select and implement corrective action
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to abnormal patient response during anesthesia.
- Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency drugs and fluids and using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques
- Successfully responds to emergency situations by providing excellent airway management and PAL
