At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

As the Product Manager for our documentation platform, you'll drive the future direction of our web application powering Twilio’s most critical developer engagements like API documentation and tutorials. The documentation platform serves both internal and external users: technical content creators and Twilio users. Collaborating with content creators, you'll understand their needs, translating them into a product plan and offering a world-class contributor experience. Through user engagement and research, you will ensure a top-tier user interface characterized by exceptional performance. You will be responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap, gathering and prioritizing requirements, and delivering high-quality, user-centered solutions.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Assume ownership of the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Twilio Docs web property, defining clear product goals, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Establish a strong presence within the engineering team, driving the agile process, including backlog refinement, and sprint planning and review support.
  • Collaborate closely with developer educators, and relevant stakeholders to understand platform requirements and translate them into actionable product plans and feature specifications.
  • Develop a deep understanding and empathy for Twilio's diverse base of developers and personas. Conduct primary and secondary user research, periodic surveys, and competitive analyses to continually enhance the user experience, and innovate with a focus on usability and accessibility.
  • Effectively prioritize incoming feature requests, ensuring that our engineering team can focus on the most critical deliverables. Communicate product strategy, progress, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze platform and site usage, identifying key success metrics to inform decision-making and to drive continuous improvement. Simultaneously, guarantee that the platform offers metrics that effectively support the team's content efforts, such as user feedback, user journeys, and traffic analysis.
  • Twilio is a leader in API documentation. You will identify platform features that we could contribute to the open-source community and collaborate with marketing to amplify the impact and raise awareness of these contributions.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

  • Experience in agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks for the available resources.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to inform product decisions.
