About the team:
Robinhood is looking for an Engineering Leader to build and lead teams of dedicated Software Engineers to build premier systems in the Customer Trust and Safety domain.
This is a large and pivotal org within Robinhood (4 Managers, 40+ engineers) that is responsible for ensuring the identity of our customers, any potential fraud that may take place on our platform, device authentication and everything in-between. You will have a unique opportunity to lead and significantly impact a fast-paced and multifaceted Fintech company. This high-impact role offers tremendous opportunities for growth, learning, and leadership as Robinhood expands locally and internationally.
We’re looking for a senior engineering leader to help scale this area. In this role you will partner with leaders in our product (Brokerage, Crypto & Cash), operations, enterprise risk, finance, and compliance teams to inspire changes to help us better verify our users identity, quantify and prepare for risks, cut down fraud, and properly refer any financial crimes. You will identify the top user fraud-related difficulties and work with the business to define product improvement opportunities.
The preferred location for this position is in or around Robinhood's offices in Menlo Park, CA, with in-office work capabilities, as may be required by management.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
- Lead the day-to-day Customer Trust and Safety engineering functions including tactical and strategic leadership of our Fraud, Identity and Device Authentication teams
- Help us build a stable and scalable infrastructure to protect Robinhood and our customers from potential fraud, while reducing false positive flags and bad customer experience.
- Build positive relationships and partnerships with collaborators cross functionally with multiple team members, including but not limited to product engineering, security engineering, operations, PMs/TPMs, and more
- Build a best-in-class team by hiring exceptional talent, mentoring and developing engineers, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, and using your technical experience to set a higher standard constantly
- Develop efficient processes to ensure your engineering team operates with high velocity, quality, and ownership.
- Lead and participate in critical technical, strategic, and operational discussions with other company leaders.
About you:
- Ten or more years of proven ability as an engineering leader
- Strong technical skills and a willingness to dive into technical details
- Extensive experience developing new teams and managers. Proven track record of developing, managing, and evaluating engineering talent.
- Experience working closely with multi-functional partners in product and operations
Bonus points:
- Strong curiosity about financial systems, products, and services
- Previous experience working with Identity, Fraud and/or Payments systems
- Have led cross disciplinary teams of Software Engineers

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
