Hours/Schedule:
1) Part time, variable shift, 16 hours per week. This schedule is 4 hour shifts start as early as 3:00 a.m. or 4:00 a.m. and includes an every other weekend commitment.
2) Part time, day shift, 20 hours per week. This schedule includes an every other weekend rotation.
3) Part time, PRN/Occasional.
A one-time sign on bonus is available to qualified individuals for up to $2,500 (less taxes) with a 2 year service commitment for positions that are a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Job Summary:
Under specific direction, collects and prepares blood specimens and other samples for laboratory testing. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique and processes the samples according to laboratory guidelines.
- Delivers samples to the laboratory in established time frames.
- May perform waived testing.
- May perform a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
- Identifies patients using two identifiers.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
