Description

Eihab is a non-profit organization currently seeking a dynamic Part Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.  Seeking a candidate that is willing to learn and grow with a fast-growing organization. We are looking for a responsible and charismatic RN who is able to provide medical attention to our clients who are experiencing medical and physical conditions who require nursing care.

 

Positions Shift: Friday and Saturdays, hours to be determined.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • The RN will utilize the nursing process documentation and communication skills to collaborate with physicians and other team members.
  • Supervise provisions of client care services.
  • Provides nursing assessments to all EIHAB clients.
  • Provides health education training as assigned.
  • Provide initial health screenings upon admission, to include pain assessment.
  • Maintain an adequate understanding of psychiatric diagnosis (including proper diagnostic codes).
  • Maintain an adequate understanding of the psychotherapeutic process.
  • Maintain (and convey to stakeholders) adequate knowledge of psychotropic medications and side effects along with medical problems associated with medications.
  • Maintain an adequate knowledge of client mental health issues and psychotropic medical problems that are most common to this consumer population.
  • Provide transportation for clients for medical care, as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with licensed physicians and dentists to provide medical care as required.
  • Ensure provision of emergency medical care, onsite and in the hospital, for individuals.
  • Provide health instruction to the individuals, as needed.
  • Maintain a complete record of all immunizations provided, pain assessments, medicine administered, nutritional assessment, vision and hearing checks, physical examinations and any treatment provided for specific illness or medical emergency.
  • Ensure that medical, dental and health services are provided in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Arrange medications to be continued while clients are on home visits, on emergency leave, and special trips.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing in the state of New Jersey.
  • Required to have and maintain a valid license to practice nursing in the state of New Jersey.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey, plus three years driving history and a driving record in good standing.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must successfully complete DDD Modules of Medication Administration, Overview of Developmental Disabilities, Abuse and Neglect and CPR/First Aid within 120 days of hire.
  • Successfully completes training in agency approved procedure for handling life threatening emergencies/Danielle’s Law and HIPPA training prior to working directly with the consumers.
  • Maintains current CPR/First Aid and Mantoux requirements.
