POSITION SUMMARY:
The Workday Security Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of Workday security configurations. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive employee data within the Workday platform. The Workday Security Administrator will have deep expertise in Workday security, a strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements - e.g. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC2), and the ability to manage external vendors while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including clinical and administrative leaders.

- Education
- Four (4) year college degree.
- Certification
- Workday Pro certification in security or relevant Workday modules.
- 5+ years of experience in Workday security administration, including configuring roles, permissions, groups, BP security policies and access controls in regulated industry
- Implements security to include user profiles, roles, permissions, object security and query security for all areas of Workday.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards including HIPAA, Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) and SOC2 and their impact on Workday security.
- Proven experience managing security in Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Finance, Payroll and other modules ensuring compliance and data protection.
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior stakeholders and influence decision making in complex organizations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Acceptable Pre-Employment Assessment Results.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Pro certification in security or relevant Workday modules
- Experience integrating Workday with Healthcare IT systems or identity management platforms
- Project management experience in Workday implementations or large-scale upgrades
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Demonstrates technical expertise in building, maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and fixing issues related to Workday Security.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the Workday security strategy aligning with healthcare regulatory and organizational compliance requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders and cross functional teams, recommending security best practices for sensitive data.
Hands-On Technical Expertise
- Skilled at explaining HR & Finance concepts and relating them to how Workday functions, while translating this information for HR & Finance end users to help them understand how the requested changes will be implemented.
- Configure, maintain and enhance Workday roles, permissions and access controls to protect employee and organization data.
- Design and implement security configurations for the Workday HCM & Financial suite.
- Conduct hands-on security assessments and proactively address vulnerabilities in Workday to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of sensitive data.
- Complete technical impact assessment of Workday Upgrades, Releases, & Change Management, including impacted integrations and downstream systems
- Ability to escalate and communicate long-term maintenance issues associated with requested configuration changes.
- Strong understanding on how security connects with other functional areas and vice versa.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure Workday Security adheres to specific regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as organizational policies.
- Lead and support audits, including access reviews and segregation of duties (SoD) analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards and mitigating security risks.
- Develop and enforce robust governance policies for Workday Security.
- Strong understanding of security reporting for SOX reporting/dashboards/monitoring.
Collaboration and Vendor Management
- Collaborate with HR, IT, Finance and business stakeholders to ensure Workday security solutions meet the unique need
