Reports To: General/Store Manager

Role Objective:
The Assistant Manager of Training is responsible for onboarding, training and continuously developing all new and existing leaders in their district. They are accountable for creating and maintaining a positive and highly productive work environment that aligns with the company's mission, setting the standard by developing and maintaining their team to be their district’s ‘Center of Excellence’. Whenever they are not training, they will be responsible for consistently achieving sales & profitability goals and developing a highly successful team in their home store. As a field extension of the corporate education team, this role involves planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs and reporting on their impacts on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities are evenly split between training accountabilities and team development (50%) and optimizing guest experience and profitability (50%).

 Onboarding & Training (50%)
 Training Delivery:

  • Conduct New Store Opening (NSO) inductions in your district and support subsequent opening weekends wherever possible.
  • Execute training sessions with new leaders across all subject matters, driving competency in total leadership acumen.  
  • Partner with cross-functional experts to coordinate enhanced and consistent central support to Training Stores.
  • Ongoing training on brand, product, and service standards in daily rallies in home/training store.
  • Act as a source for inspiration, delivering brand, product, or service training within their home store wherever necessary, especially for new product or program launches.

Measurement & Feedback:

  • Monitor onboarding success by tracking new leader hire progress, retention and performance metrics.
  • Assess the performance of individual contributors and entire teams, conducting training sessions to close the gaps to foster a ‘Center of Excellence’ culture in the Training Store.
  • Measure & report individual completion rates of learning programs in home store as well as completion rates for programs district wide.
  • Conduct monthly needs analyses to refine training plans that enhance guest experiences and drive results.
  • Measure the ROI of training plans, adjusting to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Provide insights and feedback during regular touchpoints with the central education leadership team and participate in monthly training calls.

Sales & Service Management (50%)
Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Demonstrate expertise in all areas of operations, visual merchandising, sales and service, and loss prevention.
  • Monthly participation in floor sets and floor changes to maintain brand standards.
  • Monthly participation in operational tasks such as floor scans, ship-from-store processes, replenishment, and reporting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to effectively train others in performing these duties.
  • Run the sales floor and enrich the sales team’s behaviors to drive highly satisfied guest interactions and achieve exceptional sales results.

People Leadership:

  • Inspire teams to embody the brand’s mission and principles.
  • Coach the Sales & Service team to deliver exceptional guest experiences through meaningful connections and technical product education.
  • Develop succession planning strategies and recruitment pipelines for internal and external talent.
  • Collaborate with Store Manager to write effective schedules balancing training and business priorities.
  • Identify and address sales & service opportunities by analyzing data and partnering with the Store Manager to implement solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in retail training or management
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proven success in developing and leading training programs
  • Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive results
  • Organizational and time management expertise for handling multiple responsibilities effectively
  • Experience collaborating with corporate teams and contributing to content development
