Clinical Administrative Assistant


Job Description:

In addition to performing assigned medical assistant duties, the Clinical Administrative Assistant will support the Medical Assistant Supervisor and the Clinical Operations Coordinator. They will also provide medical assistant coverage to the team(s) as assigned or as needed.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

· Provide weekly/monthly audits of assigned medical assistant team members

· Manage MA scheduling and callouts

· Chart Audits

· Provider templates

· Inventory

· Training in Clinic as needed

· Provide timely oversight of quality initiatives and requirements

· Perform Medical Assistant duties as assigned or as needed

· Attend OSHA and HIPAA training, as directed

· Attend and participate in clinic meetings

· Ability to travel between multiple locations as needed

· Other duties as assigned


Medical Assistant Certification


Experience:

· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in healthcare related field in a Clinical Medical Assistant role preferred

· Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Dermatology preferred


Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

· Knowledge of clinical processes and principles

· Knowledge of medical terminology, practice protocols and standards, HIPAA and OSHA policy and requirements


Skills:

· Skill in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness

· Excellent communication skills

· Excellent attention to detail as related to patient care

Abilities:

· Ability to communicate clearly with many different levels of staff

· Ability to make sound clinical judgements decisions and weigh risks

· Ability to analyze medical records and documentation and identify problem areas

· Ability to collaborate effectively

· Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, appropriate EMR and practice management software preferred. *Experience in Modernizing Medicine and EMA a plus


Equipment Operated:

Standard clinical and office equipment


Work Environment:

Combination of medical office and exam rooms. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, and other conditions common in clinic settings. Light lifting to 20 lbs. and ability to physically support patients as needed.
