QC Technician I

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, that will support a wide variety of Quality responsibilities including analyzing, testing, and communicating results for high-quality food ingredients!

 

What you’ll do:

• Analyze samples using defined laboratory methods (including chemical, microbiological and wastewater) in a timely fashion while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
• Keep up-to-date and accurate records of all laboratory data and communicate timely to internal customers on test results. 
• Maintain the laboratory in a sanitary and orderly condition and assist/track ordering for supplies required for testing.
• Package samples to be sent to customers, maintain accurate records and information pertaining to samples.  Maintain inventory & quality of sample materials.
• Perform environmental monitoring and wastewater testing.
• Follow good laboratory practices, safety rules, and GMPs.  
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent credit hours) in chemistry, biology or related field.
• Experience or training in microbiological techniques.
• Good working knowledge of aseptic sampling techniques. 
• Good mathematic aptitude with ability to perform unit conversions (such as pound to grams, liters to milliliters), use conversion tables, use a calculator, and perform and calculate dilutions.
• Ability to perform and understand routine analytical procedures.
• Ability to work accurately with a minimum of supervision. 
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with laboratory and plant personnel. 
• Ability to work variable shifts, including some weekends.
• Working knowledge of JDE and Microsoft office preferred. 
• Good knowledge of cGMP, SQF and HACCP preferred.
