Riverbed- Student Assistant (FWS/NFWS)

• Grand Canyon University is seeking a student assistant to support GCU's mission through Student Engagement's event space and entertainment center: The Riverbed.

  Purpose within the Organization:

  The purpose of this position is to assist students, staff, and guests at the Riverbed with enthusiastic customer service in order to provide a positive and entertaining atmosphere, while accomplishing daily responsibilities to contribute to the ultimate goal of building community at Grand Canyon University.

  Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Provide customer service in The Riverbed.
  • Hand out and retrieve gaming equipment including (but not limited to) billiards, ping pong, air hockey, etc.
  • Set up and tear down tables, chairs, stage and other heavy miscellaneous equipment (30+ lbs).
  • Assist students and staff during various social events.
  • Attend to the general cleanliness and maintenance of both the desk space and the recreational area.

  Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. 
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

  You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

  Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

  Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2026
