Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Lift Truck Operator to safely transport product from conveyor dumps and other locations to trailers specified as peddles. To plan and load trailers according to delivery specifications.

Essential Functions: 

Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility 

• Receiving a pull task with information on the tile material to be pulled and  retrieving the correct material with a lift truck.                                                  

• Transporting a pallet by fork lift to and from locations.                                                

• Complete paperwork as required.                                                                                

• Wrap and band tile materials prepared on pallets.  Prepare and package miscellaneous items in boxes for shipment.                                            

• Tape and repair any damaged packaging..  

• Raise or lower dock leveler. 

• Attendance is an essential function of the job, you must comply with the corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy. 

• Must adhere to our normal work schedule, i.e. starting and stopping times, and where applicable rotating days.  

• Must be able to work necessary overtime. 

• lift 50 lbs. of sand and bucket glue 

• Lift propane to refuel lifts. 

• Load/carry pad to load/unload on/off trailers 

• Remove rolls of LG from pallet 

• Build pallets in unit system 

• make glue cuts on the system and build those pallets 

Non-Essential Functions: 

• Housekeeping 

• Perform duties of LTO in other departments as necessary 

Knowledge/Skills:    

• Must be able to read, write and understand information on shipping labels and product tags 

• Must be able to perform simple math – add, subtract, multiply, divide 

• Must be able to plan and make decisions on loading peddles according to delivery schedule 

• Must be able to wrap products on the offline wrapper
