General Notes

A Research Scientist Associate (RESA) position is available in Yin lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. The research in Yin lab focuses on employing a biomaterials-centric approach to elucidate the key mechanism for potentiating or varying the immune responses, and in parallel, to precisely modulate the immune system and create new immunotherapies against cancer and infectious diseases. Our lab will leverage cutting-edge technologies in synthetic chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, systems immunology, and organoid models to advance developments in cancer immunotherapy and anti-viral vaccines. Our ultimate goal is to translate these new technologies and therapies for clinical applications.

Purpose

Assist with experiments including basic cell culture, immune cell isolation, and murine tumor model establishment. Responsible for supporting general lab maintenance including (1) ordering and maintaining lab supplies, (2) managing biological and chemical inventory and safety records, (3) maintaining lab equipment to ensure functionality, (4) maintaining mouse inventory, and (5) supporting general lab management as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with experiments.

  • Support general lab maintenance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific, engineering or technical field.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with flow cytometry and analysis, experience with immunological assays.

  • Experience with basic cell culture and mouse handling.

Salary Range

$35,568 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
