HOW THE SENIOR IT PROJECT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.
- Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Organize and lead or participate in status/working meetings, as required
- Prepare and distribute progress and status reports
- Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff and stakeholders
- Coordinates development of deliverables and products
- Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables
- Manage risks, issues, cost, performance, and schedule
- Create appropriate metrics and track accordingly
- Develop corrective action plans
- Evaluate complex risks/issues and provide recommendations for project improvement
- Assures quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits.
- Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to senior management as requested.
- Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
- Participates in special projects as required
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; OR in lieu of degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required
- PMP certification is preferred
Required Experience:
- 10+ years of related professional IT experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager successfully managing multiple concurrent projects
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication, analytical, and time management skills that enable innovative design and technical thought leadership in a rapidly evolving environment
- Good people skills, especially customer relationship skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adjust well in constantly changing environments
Desired Experience:
- Experience working similiar role with the United States Postal Service (USPS)
- Demonstrated Facility or Infrastructure experience
Security Clearance Level:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
- This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
