PURPOSE / GENERAL DUTIES
Life Pacific University is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Student Accounts Director. As the Student Accounts Director, you will play a vital role in overseeing all aspects of student financial accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service delivery. You will be responsible for managing student billing, reconciling all student accounts, and providing financial counseling to students and families. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting, billing processes, account collections, financial aid regulations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Primary duties of this position include but may not be limited to the following:
- Oversee the management of student financial accounts, including billing, payments, and refunds.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations regarding student financial aid and billing processes.
- Coordinate the processing and reconciliation of financial aid, scholarships, grants, and loans in a timely manner.
- Provide financial counseling and support to students and families, including assistance with budgeting, loan repayment options, and financial literacy education.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Admissions, Financial Aid, and Academic Affairs, to support student enrollment and retention efforts.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to student accounts and financial services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about changes in cash management regulations and best practices in student financial services.
- Manage a team of student accounts staff, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Represent the university at meetings, conferences, and other events related to student financial services.
- Uphold the university's mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role. Ensure that all financial assistance programs available in the school are in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with LPU’s Finance department on A/R policies, cash collections and processing and student account refunds.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum requirements include (if a preferred preference is applicable, list following minimum and note accordingly):
- A vibrant and authentic Christian faith and worldview consistent with the University’s Statement of faith which all employees are required to sign.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in student financial services, accounting, or related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, including Title IV programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience working in higher education or a similar non-profit environment is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a must.
