The Principal Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring that the engineering work products delivered to our customers meet their specified technical requirements and are developed using approved development processes and procedures. The PQE must be able to work independently within a cross-function, matrixed organization in which there is close interaction and collaboration with program quality and various engineering disciplines.
What You Will Do:
- Interface with cross functional teams (program managers, engineers, CM, DM, HW and Security) as appropriate.
- Participate in site maintenance to ensure the Operational Availability of the GPS OCX System.
- Participate in Agile phases of development.
- Participate in Operational Change Control Boards and assure submitted packages are complete and actions are tracked to completion.
- Participate in and approve test plans, procedures, and deliverables.
- Interface with customer and Government Quality Assurance representatives in support of program, corporate and third-party audits, and assessment.
- Support product verification and validation activities in support of customer sell-off.
- Support mission assurance activities in support of a development and sustainment programs.
- Perform independent software process and product assessments, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
- Review correctness of formal test procedures and test configurations, and participate in Regression test or functional checkout, including post-test actions.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Technology, Electrical Engineer, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience within Engineering and/or Quality Engineering.
- Experience in Product and Process Audits.
- Experience with software and hardware processes, software/hardware lifecycle; requirements, design, Implementation, and software/hardware testing.
- Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and/or other engineering and manufacturing related documents.
- Manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, test).
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with ISO 9000 and AS 9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience working in a Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) Development environment.
- Experience utilizing DevSecOps Metrics to monitor program performance and proliferate continuous improvement activities.
- Scripting experience i.e., Python, Perl, and bash.
- Experience delivering presentations to senior leadership.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) MS Access and Project.
