Job Description

You’ll oversee staff management, training, marketing, budgeting, project and program oversight, client relations, safety compliance, quality control, traffic engineering leadership, and the development of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, procedures, and reports—while ensuring high-quality performance, profitability, and daily departmental problem-solving.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise, train, and oversee engineers, technicians, and professional staff while ensuring all operations comply with Atlas safety standards.
  • Participate in company marketing, sales, and corporate development initiatives.

  • Develop and track department budgets; manage projects, programs, client relationships, and overall quality and performance.

  • Maximize departmental profitability and revenue.

  • Oversee daily activities, resolve operational issues, enforce quality control, and guide staff through mentoring, development, and professional certifications.
  • Lead the Traffic Engineering and Planning Unit while producing plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, procedures, and reports.

You’ll thrive here if you

  • B.S in Civil Engineering. Master’s Degree is preferred in Traffic/Planning

  • Registration as a Georgia Professional Engineer is required. PTOE is preferred

  • Minimum of 10-20 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering

  • Efficient in Traffic Engineering software, Excel, Word, GIS, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

  • Review of analytical data and quality assurance documents and processes, conduct site work as required

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills

  • Knowledge of financial responsibility, project invoices, and billing system is a plus

  • Serves as a representative of Atlas at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects

  • Ability to travel as needed
