The Penn State College of Medicine, Center for Advancing Health Equity for Rural and Underserved Communities, in Hershey, PA is seeking an Education Program Specialist.

The Center for Advancing Health Equity in Rural and Underserved Communities (CAHE-RUC) is a unique academic and community partnership committed to the comprehensive evaluation and implementation of evidence-based, community-level strategies to improve health outcomes for rural and underserved communities. With locations in Chicago and Hershey CAHE-RUC tackles a variety of complex public health and health system issues that require multi-disciplinary and multi-methodological approaches to achieve outcomes that benefit individuals and whole communities.

Job Summary: 

The Behavioral Health team within the Center for Advancing Health Equity in Rural and Underserved Communities (CAHE-RUC) is seeking a highly motivated Program Manager to manage, implement, and evaluate the Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) program and other behavioral health initiatives. The aims of the behavioral health and substance use programs are to create an academic – community infrastructure that will allow the Center to create and develop culturally tailored mental health programs and investigate and evaluate interventions that have the potential to improve mental health service utilization within communities of color. Projects focus on increasing mental health and substance use literacy and access to care, providing culturally tailored health education and resources, increasing community-based partner’s capacity to provide behavioral health services within communities of color and building a network of culturally responsive providers.

Under the direction of the Associate Center Director, the Program Manager coordinates program activities and makes sure that deliverables are complet
