The Engineering Manager is responsible for technical/production support, process/product development and optimization of Aerospace and Industrial gas turbine systems for assigned areas and its applicability to NPI, Repair and OEM businesses. Leading and supervising project teams of 2-6 producing new designs, repairs, and processes; utilizing Lean tools and methodologies to positively impact the business metrics.
Job Duties:
- Supervise a technical team of 2-6 with leadership competencies to continually raise the performance of the team.
- Provide a leadership role, coaching and mentoring within the team, closing skills/knowledge gaps identified within the project team
- Lead NPI, process/yield improvement and rework reduction projects to full production capability as it relates to assigned area of focus
- Provide planning leadership by setting project priorities for the team, based upon company goals.
- Lead implementation of new products/processes as they relate to assigned area of focus into the operational environment that effectively drive improvements in business metrics.
- Coordinate manpower and other project requirements to ensure project completion within time and under budget
- Be a trainer, mentor and coach to all members of the team.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
BS Engineering in a related Engineering discipline
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/PROFICIENCIES:
- Detail knowledge of gas turbine design, manufacturing, or repair processes, as appropriate for the engineering team and function being led
- 5+ Years experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Proven Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
- Proven Leadership potential and demonstrated leadership skills
- 3-5 Years experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
