The Challenge
As a Principal Business Systems Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming and optimizing Workday financial processes through innovative system solutions. You will be a key partner to Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Revenue Operations, working to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and implement best-in-class automation and efficiency across our Workday Financials ecosystem.
This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and deep business process knowledge to drive scalable and sustainable solutions. You will be responsible for improving user experience, increasing system adoption, and ensuring Workday is effectively aligned with business needs.
Your Mission
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Lead end-to-end Workday Financials enhancements – configure, test, validate, and deploy process improvements to optimize financial workflows.
- Act as a trusted Workday SME, partnering with Finance and Accounting teams to understand business challenges and translate them into effective system solutions.
- Drive automation initiatives by leveraging Workday capabilities to simplify manual processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain complex reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Lead and participate in Workday releases and system upgrades, ensuring smooth adoption of new features while maintaining system integrity.
- Proactively identify system and process optimization opportunities, providing recommendations and executing strategic improvements.
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance by working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain financial controls and audit readiness.
- Support end-user training and documentation, ensuring adoption and self-sufficiency within the Finance organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in a Workday Financials business analysis, systems, or administration role.
- Workday Financials certification strongly preferred (e.g., Workday Financials Core, Procurement, or Reporting).
- Deep understanding of Workday Financials modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Expenses, Revenue, Banking, and Settlements.
- Experience with Workday reporting tools (Advanced Reporting, Calculated Fields, Composite Reports, Dashboards).
- Knowledge of integration tools (EIB, BIRT) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and Business stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills – able to translate technical Workday concepts into business-friendly language.
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
Salary Range$127,500—$191,250 USDWhere we Work
