JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Patient Access Manager is responsible for the ongoing management and daily operation of business functions which include; insurance management, pre-service financial clearance, estimates and financial counseling, ultimately ensuring the success of front end revenue cycle functions.  The Access Manager is responsible to ensure the processes developed and deployed at the front end of the revenue cycle are optimized, developing  and implementing operational improvements to ensure best practice. The Manager plans, coordinates and organizes all business processes and work efforts specific to Patient Access/Revenue Cycle functions at multiple campuses and locations.  Under the direction of the Director of Patient Access, the Manager ensures that departmental goals and objectives are developed and met in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining quality assurance standards and adhering to regulatory requirements. 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in the Health Care field and/or Business Administration or other related field.  A combination of education and directly relevant experience may be substituted.  National Certification by NAHAM for Health Access Management (CHAM) preferred and required within 2 years of hire.  CPC Certification desirable.

EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a minimum of five years hospital experience in revenue cycle, admissions and/or billing with at least 2 years in supervision/management.  Experience in estimates and financial counseling highly desirable and a proven record of budget and fiscal responsibility with a focus on multi department and site allocation.  Project development and management experience desirable.  Must possess a strong technical background, particularly surrounding application and database management.
