Intensive Transition Team PRSS Level 1- Community Based (65625)

NorthCare is looking for a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to join our Intensive Transitional Team (ITT). This role is perfect for someone who understands the challenges of recovery and wants to use their experiences to uplift and guide others.

Some Key Duties:

• Provide compassionate, recovery-focused support to clients and their families.
• Advocate for individuals transitioning from inpatient care back into the community.
• Facilitate peer support groups and teach self-advocacy skills.
• Promote wellness activities and connect clients to vital resources.
• Coordinate with inpatient psychiatric hospitals and crisis centers to provide outreach, peer support, and discharge planning for admitted and discharging individuals.
• Build rapport with individuals in inpatient and crisis settings, explore barriers, and discuss how NorthCare can support their recovery.
• Collaborate between inpatient/crisis centers and NorthCare teams to ensure a smooth transition back into outpatient services.
• Communicate with inpatient treatment teams to assist with consumer stabilization.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Personal experience in mental health recovery & wellness
• Willingness to obtain ODMHSAS Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification within 60 days of hire
• Passion for helping others navigate their recovery journey
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• Reliable transportation; valid Oklahoma driver’s license; vehicle insurance
• Ability to work in various community settings, including homes, local venues, and telehealth sessions
