About the team

Our mission as an engineering team is to help craft and build platform technologies, data sets, and features that help agents better understand the needs of their customers. We work with our customers, product, and research teams to improve our existing solutions and find opportunities for new areas to explore and experiment. When we do this well, Alan will be more successful at his job, and Beth will be a more satisfied customer.
The Iron Chef team is focused on providing customer insights to our partner agents and making these insights available in the tools they use and love, not only in the Zillow Premier Agent App but also in popular third-party CRMs, to empower agents with the information they need to be great!

About the role

The team owns data pipelines written using Flink, Kafka, and Scala to support services in Node and PHP with a MySQL backend. We offer a great balance of senior and junior developer experience with many opportunities for mentorship and growth.
 

Current work: recently the team added support for two additional third party CRMs to bring the total to three CRMs sharing two-way data with Zillow, allowing real estate agents to work within their favored app. The team leveraged machine learning and clickstream data to help agents identify buyers who appear to be high-intent-to-buy in the near future, allowing agents to plan their nurturing efforts accordingly. The team is working hard to deliver buyer insights for a new feature, which will provide the agent timely and relevant information to help them best support their customers.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $197,100.00 - $314,900.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

The SDM will work in an org with seven related teams, managing the full ZG experience for our Premier Agent partners. We cover the full product lifecycle from data engineering and data stores to web and mobile front end experiences. The team plays a critical role in many of Zillow’s top priorities, including supporting the Zillow Home Loans, Seller Options,  and Touring orgs. Senior managers are typically hands-on when it comes to system design, and project management while the keep as a priority maintaining high performing teams with high morale through coaching, mentoring and focused career development.
