A Production Supervisor develops and maintains an effective production department, ensuring that company products of the highest quality is produced in a safe, cost-effective manner to ensure the best delivery to our customers and comply with all company policies and manufacturing procedures.
Requirements
*Supervise manufacturing plant associates
*Ensure ISO, Engineering and Safety procedures are adhered to and maintained
*Review and analyze production, quality assurance, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications, operating or production problems
*Plan, coordinate and direct production activities to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in on-time delivery and quality
*Employ lean principles to drive continuous improvement activities, to increase efficiency and productivity, and to enhance margins, throughput, quality, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
*Develop and implement standard operating methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and trains personnel
*Ensure all associates are fully trained in all aspects of their responsibilities and are cross trained across all products and processes to provide flexibility in meeting daily changing demands
*Assist management and engineering regarding modification of product and equipment to improve production and quality
*Work with management to establish budgets and ensure operating costs are effective and within budget
*Work with other departments to foster positive interdepartmental collaboration, and efficiency of process flow
*Maintain time and production records
*Develop, track and maintain key metrics to monitor the health of the department and progress of continuous improvement.
*Utilize ERP and other software to drive daily production plans, and report status and projections
*Establish performance standards, goals and expectations of associates and conduct performance appraisals of appropriate individuals
*Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need
Education: High school diploma or GED. Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology, Business or other related field preferred
Experience: 5 years production experience, with at least 1 year experience as a lead person at CDC or as a production supervisor in a similar high mix / low volume production environment
Technical / Function Specific:
*Ability to read blueprints
*Advanced math skills, including ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
*Effective verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing procedures
*Ability to perform the essential functions of each subordinate position in designated department
*Working knowledge of a wide variety of industrial equipment, particularly all machinery and equipment in designated department
*Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, Microsoft Windows and Office

*Ability to stand and/or walk for majority of designated department’s scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required
*Ability to independently lift up to 50 pounds as needed and lift up to 100 pounds with the aid of hoists and oth
