Position Purpose:
The Sr. Software Engineer plays a critical role in designing, building, and evolving custom warehouse execution systems that drive automation, efficiency, and resilience across supply chain distribution and fulfillment operations. In this position, you'll lead development and continuous improvement initiatives for solutions that directly interface with robotics, conveyor systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), optimizing how work is carried out in highly automated, high-volume warehouse environments.Working alongside engineers of diverse experience levels, you will collaborate to enhance technical capabilities, share leadership across projects, and support both the creation and deployment of mission-critical production applications. Responsibilities span hands-on engineering, product and tool evaluation, security implementation, system configuration, performance optimization, production monitoring, and mentoring less experienced team members—all with a focus on deploying innovative automation technologies in fast-evolving warehouse settings.

Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of focused experience architecting and developing software for supply chain operations, warehouse execution systems (WES), or fulfillment center technology—preferably involving large-scale, automated distribution environments.
- Demonstrated expertise with warehouse robotics, automation technologies, and conveyor system integration, including hands-on development and support of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining custom warehouse execution systems from the ground up, optimizing workflow, material handling, and order fulfillment within high-volume, automated facilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, with practical experience deploying robust solutions that interface directly with industrial automation hardware, sensors, and control systems.
- Supply chain background and understanding of distribution center processes, including hands-on collaboration with operations, engineering, and automation teams.
- Experience implementing and integrating automation technologies iteratively—such as robotics, conveyor controls, and warehouse IoT—using modern design patterns and scalable cloud architectures.
- Solid foundation in front-end development using HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/Typescript frameworks, paired with competency in object-oriented programming languages (Java strongly preferred).
