Job Description

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) in an external per-diem role for an excellent opportunity in the Regional Urgent Care Clinic / Symptom Care Clinic (SCC) for the Commack and Nassau site.  This is an excellent opportunity to work 13-hour shifts (8a-9:30PM) amongst a group of dedicated experts at world renowned cancer center.  Prior experience in the intensive care unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED) or Urgent Care Center (UCC) is preferred

 

Hours: Flex 13 hours (including weekends / Holidays)

 

We Are:

 

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join a team of over 900 NPs and PAs across MSK who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, expert and comprehensive cancer care to patients and families, supporting the mission, philosophy, standards, goals and objectives of the institution and department.

 

You Are:

• Able to care for multiple patients in an ED like environment that may be at times unpredictable
• Able to manage patients who have medical or post-operative complications
• Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
• Effective at gaining the support and commitment of others by engaging them around your point of view and priorities
• Flexible in your approach and demeanor to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances

 

You Will:

• Triage and deliver care for patients who are acutely ill or symptomatic
• Deliver care as the lead for the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT)
• Provide coverage as MOD/DOD for patients who develop acute reactions or complications in infusion or radiology suite.

 

 

Qualifications needed for a PA candidate are:

 

• Active NY & NJ licenses or willing/eligible to obtain both
• Related experience in Emergency, Critical Care or Intensive Care
• Experience or willing to act as a MERT Lead and support MOD/DOD Coverage
• Ability to work 13-hour shifts (8am – 9:30 pm)
• Weekend and holiday rotations are required

• Graduate from an accredited PA program
• NCCPA certification
• Active NY & NJ licenses or eligible to obtain both 
• A minimum of 2 years of related experience is preferredBLS / ACLS / PALS certified

 

Qualifications needed for an NP candidate are:

• patients
• Active NY & NJ Advanced Practice Nursing licenses/registrations or eligible to obtain both
• Master’s degree in nursing, prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)
• 3+ years of related clinical experience
• Related National NP certification
• BLS / ACLS / PALS certified 

Pay Range $88.00/hlry
