Revenue Accounting Manager

As a Revenue Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of the company's application of revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606. In this role, you'll also serve as they key partner to internal stakeholders in Billing and Accounts Receivable, Legal, FP&A, and Operations.

This is a high-impact role for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys cross-functional collaboration, systems integration, and process optimization.

Responsibilities:

Revenue Accounting Leadership:

• In this role, you will lead revenue-related accounting processes and own aspects of the monthly close, reporting directly into the general ledger team.
• You will prepare month-end reconciliations and supporting documentation over deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and adjusted revenue accounts.
• You will manage critical areas including ASC 606 and CECL Compliance, and revenue reserves.
• Partnering with cross-functional leaders, you'll review contracts and ensure accurate classification of product, service, and subscription-based revenue while delivering guidance and insights that support accuracy and consistency across all revenue streams.
• You'll assist with audit support and directly interface with external and internal audit teams as needed.

Process Improvement:

• You’ll also play a key role in system-based improvements and contribute to continuous optimization of close procedures and controls.

• Work cross-functionally to help automate revenue process from contract signature through invoicing.
• Be curious and continually seek to improve process, reporting results and control environment

• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting and financial processes and policies, as well as driving process improvements. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Experience working in an industry with project-based accounting required 
• Previous experience working in a fast-growing startup environment preferred 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Intermediate Excel skills, including managing large data sets, pivot tables, and Vlookups. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
• Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of non-public and regulated data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• ASC 606 and ASU 326 experience required
• 7+ years of accounting experience required, with 4+ years in Revenue Recognition
• 2 + years of supervisory experience required.
• Manufacturing and/or Distribution experience preferred
