Position Overview:
The RN Supervisor embodies the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, upholding the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance. This role requires compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care throughout the care continuum, which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, managing, and overseeing nursing practice and clinical care delivery in a high volume, fast paced clinic with approximately 55 providers
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure seamless patient care delivery and operational efficiency.
- Providing personnel management and coaching to support staff development and performance for approximately 50 team members.
- Manage team member schedules and assignments to maintain adequate coverage and workflow.
- Participate in monthly meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Assisting in problem-solving and ensuring adequate staffing and resources for optimal patient care and clinic operations
- Adhering to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements
Qualifications:
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Two years experience preferred.
- Oncology experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
- Requires ability to coordinate a number of functions for a group of patients in an effective timely manner.
- Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
