Position Summary:

As Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to researching and assessing emerging technologies to enable innovation across the enterprise. As part of the Innovation Lab, you will be responsible for exploring and gaining deep understanding of technological advances, emergent technologies and disruptive trends. You will be responsible for facilitating the ideas of using new and existing technologies in novel and unique ways to support a wide range of technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing and Robotics.

In this role, you will influence peers, technical leaders, solution architects and integration architects in achieving CVS Health strategic goals by enabling the use of cutting-edge technologies to solve previously unsolved business challenges. You will also partner with solution architects and engineering teams during the pilot implementations of emerging technologies. You will primarily be responsible for guiding teams on design and development to integrate emerging capabilities with existing CVS Health enterprise systems. You will serve as an integral partner, guiding application teams to adopt newer technologies to create disruptive and transformational breakthroughs that create new growth opportunities, competitive business services and result in delightful customer experiences.

Additional Accountability includes:

• Research and explore emerging, AI/GenAI based capabilities to enable innovation across the enterprise.
• Work with internal teams, research firms, vendors and universities on technology research and development initiatives.
• Conduct proof-of-technologies, demos, tech talks and generate inspiration for positive and innovative thinking.
• Contribute to knowledge bank and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and solution patterns.
• Collaborate with peers and domain specific IT teams to identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies to solve complex business problems.
• Be a technologist and work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing and performing assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Work with a team of engineers to deliver solution prototypes and/or MVPs for multiple use cases and assist the team accelerate the adoption of emerging capabilities.
• Provides consultation to application owners, business partners and peer groups on enabling the adoption of Generative AI based solutions to meet business imperatives.

*Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in software engineering from ideation to production deployment of IT solutions
• 5+ years experience in full software development life cycle including ideation, coding, coding standards, testing, code reviews and production deployments
• 3+ years experience in one or more programing languages such as Java or Python
• 3+ years experience with modern software development practices
• 1+ years experience exploring, building and deploying AI/GenAI based applications
• Must possess strong understanding of AI and GenAI concepts, along with the ability to apply them effectively to solve business problems.
• Must have experience developing prototypes or MVPs using LLMs such as GPT, Gemini, Cloude or Mistral.

*Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with development and testing of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs)
• Experience with unstructured text analytics, cognitive search, voice/video/natural language processing, image processing and other AI / GenAI related emerging concepts and technologies
• Experience with Hybrid cloud platforms with working knowledge and/or certification on AWS, Azure or Google cloud platform.
• Must demonstrate innovative mindset, divergent thinking and convergent actions.
• Complete understanding of the software development lifecycle - must have participated on at least 2 projects through their complete lifecycles (requirements, design, development, launch).

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required. Will accept High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of experience for every year of college not attained in addition to required years of experience. Masters in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred. M
