SUMMARY
Develops, tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software. Establishes and implements standards for computer operations and assures compatibility between hardware and software. Leads projects and conducts formal and on-the-job training of systems staff in the installation and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:
• Performs system administration of servers, operating systems and application software.
• Determines and resolves escalated hardware and software problems.
• Distributes and monitors workflow, provides training and technical assistance for employees within an assigned work area. Assures that assigned employees are provided with appropriate resources, materials, and methods.
• Provides recommendations for efficient utilization of assigned personnel. Relays work instruction from supervisor/manager and provides feedback for performance evaluations of employees.
• Actively designs and updates the Wintel servers in an Active Directory environment. Designs and implements group policy objects in a Windows 2003 Environment in the Active Directory.
• Recommends, evaluates, tests and documents new software and hardware solutions to meet business needs and determine integration issues with the company’s current platform.
• Designs, implements, and maintains a consistent backup and disaster recovery plan.
• Identifies need for additional company policies based on Sarbanes-Oxley and CORBIT IT framework, writes and maintains them.
• Leads regional or national projects involving the design, development, and rollout of technical products and services.
• Collaborates with operations, QA, and third party data centers to provide technical direction on service configurations, hardware/software deployments, firewall configurations and other tasks relating to the maintenance of servers.
• Maintains working knowledge of IT server management best practices.
• Develops and maintains subject matter expertise, serving as point of contact for complex support related matters.
• Adheres to company policies based on Sarbanes-Oxley and COBIT IT framework.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related field
• Five to seven years of experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements
• Experience with MS Office, MS Exchange, Windows Server 2000 and 2003, and Active Directory
• Experience managing projects of medium complexity crossing multiple groups within IT
• Experience in capacity planning and performance tuning for standard servers
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
• One of the following certifications required: CCA, MCSE, Network +, A + Certification

Physical Requirements:
• Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
