CVOR Scrub Registered Nurse

As a CVOR Scrub Registered Nurse at NCG Associates, you will play a critical role in the operating room, ensuring successful surgical outcomes in cardiovascular procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
• Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration
• Assist with positioning and draping patients for surgery
• Collect and analyze specimens
• Document patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in continuous education and training related to cardiovascular procedures and nursing practices

Requirements

• Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Comfortable with scrubbing all types of cardiac surgery in emergent/call situations
• Scrubbing Complex cases: VADs, Transplants, Dissections, etc
• 2 years of CVOR experience in a level 1 trauma center
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• BLS and ACLS certifications (Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Benefits

Location: Kansas City, KS

Class/Area: CVOR Scrub RN

Bill Rate : $2,520-$2,800

Desired Start Date: ASAP

Length of Assignment: 14 weeks

Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed, will be scheduled for 40

Shift and Time: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts between 0630-1900

On-call Requirements: About 1 weekend per month

Holidays Requirements: Required

Floating Requirements: Bell OR, Cambridge OR, SPD

Experience Required:  Comfortable with scrubbing all types of cardiac surgery in emergent/call situations | scrubbing complex cases: VADs, Transplants, Dissections, etc | 2 years of CVOR experience in a level 1 trauma center

Certificates Required: BLS

Housing Assistant: Provided
