Summary
As a Health, Equity and Wellbeing Consultant, you will lead client engagements involving the design and management on a wide variety of complex health, equity and wellbeing topics. You will work directly with our clients and their program vendors, create client deliverables, contribute to client management and new business activities, and participate in the creation of new intellectual capital. You will drive the strategy and grow relationships with clients leveraging your expertise alongside WTW’s array of solutions and capabilities, will generate new business by participating in prospecting activities. You will have the opportunity to provide input into the evolution of the WTW Health, Equity and Wellbeing community and to be a leader in the marketplace.
The Role
To be effective in this role, you will need strong business acumen along with confidence to interact with senior executives, lead groups and serve as a trusted advisor. Comfort navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, organized thinking and communication skills, and a willingness to engage in both strategic design and tactical implementation are also critical to success in this position.
- Proactively drive discussions around employee benefit health, equity and inclusion, and wellbeing trends, market, and best practices; internally and externally
- Play a key role in growing relationships with clients by recommending enhancements to benefit plan or broader rewards program design
- Collaborate with colleagues servicing as a subject matter expert in client and prospect discussions and support the generation of new business and revenue
- Partner with colleagues across lines of business to sell and deliver integrated advice and solutions that help clients hire, build, engaged and lead employees imperative to business success
- Develop project plans, assemble teams for delivery on client projects and ensure delivery against project goals
- Lead workshops and strategic discussions with client stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues
- Demonstrate effective sales leadership behaviors, including team collaboration, creativity, compelling proposal writing, persistent follow-up, sound judgment in scoping/pricing, and focusing on closing the deal.
- Deliver profitable revenue to the business through individual sales and billable hours goals
- Balance high-value strategic delivery with effective delegation, while enforcing budget, timeline and quality standards
- Understand, articulate, develop and implement key WTW value-added resources and intellectual capital; contribute to development of new tools and approaches
The Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in the design and management of complex health, diversity, equity, and inclusion and wellbeing employee benefit programs ideally gained in a consulting or brokerage environment, including demonstrated career progression and 3+ years of people management experience
- Knowledge of policies, programs and benefits that support diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of population health and delivery of health care in the US
- Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
- Demonstrated success or strong evidence to support the ability to contribute to new business generation
- Strong client relationship, interpersonal and team skills
- An executive presence with polished and well-developed communication skills, collaboration and partnership experience
- Strongly demonstrated strategic, problem-solving, creative and analytic skills
- Self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity
- Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
- Business acumen to identify opportunities for additional human capital consulting work in support of our clients’ strategies
- The ability to see the "big picture," leveraging the resources of related practices to address the clients' business challenges
- Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to keep abreast of latest developments in health, equity, and wellbeing strategy, and contributing to the development of thought leadership, new tools and approaches
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- BA/BS degree required
- Flexibility with respect to travel that can range from 30 to 50%
