Examples of duties

This position supports provides police services and protection to employees, the public, and property at Fort Indiantown Gap installation by performing a wide range of police duties. As an Installation Police Officer, DMVA, you will perform the following duties:

  • Patrol Duties: Patrol buildings and grounds on foot and by vehicle to maintain safety
  • Law Enforcement: Enforce federal, state, and local laws through warning, citation, or arrest
  • Emergency Response: Respond to calls for assistance and determine the nature of reported emergencies
  • Investigations: Investigate accidents, criminal activity, unusual incidents, and alarms and document findings
  • Reporting Tasks: Prepare police reports, maintain activity logs, and document probable cause for warrants
  • Equipment Operation: Operate patrol vehicles, communications equipment, and other law enforcement tools

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are rotating shifts (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM) and (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM). You will have rotating days off.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission Certified Basic Police Academy (Act 120) training.

Special Requirements:
  • You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
