About the role

The Clinical Supervisor (CS) is a responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager or Director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit.  It is expected that the CS manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises caregivers, functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate.  CSs scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care.  The CS maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing. Or, Clinical Supervisors employed prior to 1/1/17 who have not obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing are required to obtain BSN within 3 years from 1/1/17.
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire. 
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 
  • ANCC recognized specialty certification (or within 1 year of hire). For clinical supervisors hired prior to February 16, 2022 who have not obtained an AACN recognized specialty certification, must obtain within 1 year from 2/16/2022.
  • National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 
  • National Provider PALS - American Heart Association upon hire. 
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate - NIH Stroke Scale Training Course upon hire. 
  • 1 year - Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital in specialty area.
  • 1 year  - Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree - Nursing. 
  • Shared Governance experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
