About the role
About Quizlet:
Inspired by our belief that anyone can learn anything and powered by our own curiosity, we build the smartest tools we can imagine to help students learn.
Quizlet is the popular, global learning platform and app that millions of students, teachers and everyday people use to study any subject imaginable for school, work or as part of their personal interests -- including two-thirds of high school students and half of all college students in the US. Combining cognitive science and machine learning, Quizlet guides students through adaptive study activities to confidently reach their learning goals. We’re on track to become the undisputed leader in user-generated learning content and engagement, at the scale of YouTube.
Valued at $1 billion, Quizlet has raised over $60 million in venture capital from investors including Icon Ventures, Union Square Ventures, General Atlantic, Costanoa Ventures, Owl Ventures, and Altos Ventures.
To serve our global community of learners, our teams tackle lofty technical challenges and design for use cases across cultures and languages. We work hard, act like owners, and collaborate every chance we get. We’re energized by the potential to power more learners through multiple approaches and various tools.
About the Team:
The Design team at Quizlet is passionate about creating high-quality experiences that help people learn, study, and achieve their goals. Our team includes product designers, user researchers, and content designers.
You will be part of our team of product designers working to gain a deep understanding of student needs, shaping product strategy, and designing rich, interactive experiences for the 60M+ users who use Quizlet every month.
About the Role:
As a Sr. Product Monetization Designer, you will be responsible for identifying and executing product monetization enhancements, including UX, UI, interaction, and visual design for Quizlet’s web and native apps. You’ll partner closely with product managers, engineers, user researchers, content designers, and other cross-functional partners to ensure that these experiences are useful, usable, and delightful.
The first area of focus in this role is ad monetization. Millions of students are able to use Quizlet’s study tools for free every year because of the ads that are placed throughout our product. You will have the opportunity to think critically about trade-offs between user experience and revenue, and apply this knowledge towards building an improved ad experience across our products. To be clear, you will not be creating ads for Quizlet as part of your role, rather you will be creating the spaces and formats of ads that are placed on Quizlet.
The second area of focus is payment design. Some of the most important screens in our product are those responsible for collecting and managing Quizlet subscription payments. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and intuitive user experience design for touchpoints such as payment forms and user setting screens.
You’re a great fit if you are a detail-oriented designer who embraces working with cross-functional stakeholders. We value any relevant experience working with various ad formats for consumer-facing apps, basic knowledge of direct and programmatic ads, strong native app design and prototyping skills, and designing interactive forms.
This is a hybrid role based out of our New York office hub.
