Industrial Engineering Intern

Under direction of the Minitab Workspace and Minitab Engage Product Manager, conduct research regarding industrial engineering methodologies and problem-solving use cases.  Specifically, analyze Minitab’s solutions for the Automotive Industry Action Group standards as well as the German Association of the Automotive Industry along with different methodologies used for Lean, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma and more.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Complete regular research and analysis on methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
2. Create and provide regular reports on research.
3. Participate at regular meetings and present findings as required.
4. Carry out daily operational activities whilst ensuring all project requests are achieved within the agreed timeframe.
5. Maintain an awareness of company and departmental strategies and projects, and provide data driven suggestions to support success.
6. As directed, complete tasks and projects and act as back up to other areas of the Product Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Studying for Industrial Engineering or Statistics, with course work in statistics and other engineering disciplines, or comparable work experience.
2. Analytical experience, either through research and studies or relevant work experience.
3. Ability to interpret data and make recommendations accordingly.
4. Experience with quality statistical analysis, such as capability analysis, measurement systems analysis, and statistical process control, is a plus.
5. Comfort or fluency in German is a plus.
6. Experience using Minitab, or other statistical analysis package.
7. Ability to speak, write and understand the English language and ability to communicate effectively in confident and professional manner: over the telephone/video calls, through correspondence and in person.
8. Demonstrated experience in prioritising and handling multiple tasks with accuracy, proficiency and minimal supervision.
