FLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports and reports to both the Director of Marketing and to the Sr. Director of Public and Community Relations. This position coordinates and executes Broadway In Boston email campaigns, SMS, organic social media presence, and website updates. Additionally, the position assists with press inquiries, facilitates press events, and researches press, community, and grass roots opportunities. The role works closely with BAA’s national designers, digital ad strategist, and communications team to traffic and facilitate local marketing and communications needs. The role requires a self-starter and outgoing individual who will coordinate and liaise among various departments, offices, and partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Director of Marketing and Sr. Director of Public and Community Relations with all Broadway In Boston marketing, communication, and press needs.
- Maintain Email, SMS, and Social Media schedules and communication strategies.
- Provide support and coordination with the development and execution of Email and Social Media design and messaging between all departments and partners, including BAA national design team, sponsorship, ticketing, show representatives, and BAA Leadership to create final approved communications.
- Assist with press events, opening nights, promotional events, community partnerships, etc., capturing content for social media and email use.
- Research press and marketing opportunities and collaborate with departments to execute.
- Monitor social media accounts and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Notify customer service teams when a larger response is needed.
- Work with the national team to serve as local coordinator for the Broadway In Boston website and mobile app.
- Assist Group Sales with email and communications needs.
- Traffic and proof all show programs and patron communications.
- Coordinate with ticketing to facilitate promotional and trade ticket inventory.
- Assist Director of Marketing and Broadway In Boston operations team with engagement settlements.
- Other duties including administrative tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Theatre or Arts Administration preferred.
Communication Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret advertising plans and reporting.
- Ability to write marketing and press copy that conforms to prescribed style and format.
Critical Thinking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
