As a SoFi Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative and innovative startup environment. You will be embedded on an agile development team, partnered with Product Management, Product Design, User Experience Research, and Data Science to build and ship features that help our members find right financial products in their personal finance and home search journey.
What You’ll Do:
- Work on automation and improvement of data exchanges and data pipelines between internal and external teams.
- Facilitate, along with your peers, the definition of project scope, deliverables, and goals.
- Conduct process improvement projects to increase performance in vital program metrics.
- Communicate ongoing project health with key stakeholders and business leadership
- Take initiative and produce timely results in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Make significant contributions to the code base.
- Define best practices and uphold coding standards.
- Consistently demonstrate extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity, and creativity. Develops and applies advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of specialty.
- Work within the Engineering team to develop features that specifically benefit our users.
- Must be able to deliver high-quality code on schedule, communicate with groups in and outside the development team.
What You’ll Need:
- Able to start full time in 2023.
- We are on an AWS microservices architecture. Our corestack is Java/ Kotlin/ Spring / PostgreSQL / React. Strong familiarity with any OOP language and an understanding of relational databases is a great start.
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, algorithms and data structures.
- 1 year programming experience, ideally on a modern stack. Internships and relevant school experience will be considered.
- Basic knowledge in Agile Development or API Design experience.
- Reside in the United States and attend a university in the US
Nice to Have:
- Good knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
- Knowledge in analytics, metrics, and monitoring integrations
- Test-driven development along with unit and integration testing.
