This position will be under the direct supervision of a Director and its responsibilities include assisting the tax team in various aspects of compliance work for a variety of Federal, State and Local tax returns, including preparing or reviewing tax returns and comprehensive workpapers, calculating and making estimated payments, and performing and documenting research and comprehensive conclusions on various tax topics. In addition, this position will be responsible to prepare and analyze tax forecasts and the quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and journal entries, as well as to prepare or review responses to tax notices and auditor communications from various taxing jurisdictions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepares quarterly/annual income tax provision calculations and tax workpapers to ensure accurate financial statement reporting.
- Prepares and analyzes the income tax forecast to ensure accurate determination of cash taxes.
- Prepares or reviews and files federal and state tax returns and estimated payments for a variety of entity types to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
- Performs comprehensive tax research and analysis, and presents sound conclusions to ensure proper tax treatment and reporting of tax sensitive items.
- Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of, and compliance with, policies and procedures. Identify deficiencies and formulate solutions to create efficiencies and establish “best practices”.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Concentration in Accounting required. Master’s Degree with a concentration in Tax, a plus
- Minimum three to five (3-5) years of relevant accounting experience
- Regional or Big 4 Public Accounting, Timeshare/Hospitality or large Corporate tax department experience required
- Strong working knowledge of income tax provision calculation
- CPA
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and ONESOURCE (or equivalent) Tax Software
- International tax experience is a plus
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Technical knowledge of diverse tax issues
- Solid workpaper documentation skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral)
- Must be able to establish productive relationships with internal and external partners
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to work in a team environment and support the core values of the company
- Ability to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Hybrid position - working M-T-W in office and Th &Fri from home.
