Your New Role... 

CNN seeks a talented Senior Editorial Producer to join the team at The Lead with Jake Tapper in Washington, DC!  

 

Your Role Accountabilities... 

  • This senior editorial producer will oversee interview segments for a Washington-based news show, The Lead with Jake Tapper.  

  • This person must have a robust rolodex and excellent connections to book high-profile guest

  • Must thrive in a highly competitive environment and urgently book interviews in breaking news  

  • Conducts pre-interviews over the phone and sets-up on camera interviews and remote logistics. 

  • Prepares background information for anchor and producers.  

  • Proofs guest-related fonts and information.  

  • This individual is expected to identify, establish and maintain critical relationships with newsmakers, talent, and sources and to continually expand the network of bookings.  

  • This person must also be able to develop and cultivate and maintain new guest relationships on behalf of the program.    

  • Maintains futures calendar and guests' records.  

  • Represents the show at networking events.  

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.  

 

Your Qualifications & Experience...  

  • Ability to articulate the lead editorial focus for guest interviews is the essence of this job. You will be responsible for providing show and guest ideas and the most appropriate voice to speak on an issue on a global scale.  

  • Astute news and political awareness a must. Established rolodex and booking experience necessary.  

  • Must be well-read and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  

  • Organizational skills and writing skills are essential to this position.

  • A qualified candidate for this position must have 7+ years as a booking producer or equivalent production experience.  

  • Three years of editorial booking experience is required.
