Background:

A fantastic, high-profile opportunity has arisen for a Senior Payroll Tax Specialist to join the group tax team of this private equity backed, global life sciences business which, following significant profitable growth, has annual revenues approaching $1B!

This full-time role is Remotely based from within the US in either Charleston, Manchester or Gainesville.

Reporting to the North America Tax Manager, the candidate will have a Collaborative working relationship with the payroll and local finance teams.

The successful candidate will relish working in a fast paced, hands-on environment where they can quickly contribute whilst developing alongside a high caliber leadership team. This role is both hands on and strategic, so the ability to work across both ends of the range is crucial.

Position Summary:

Due to the significant levels of growth both organically and through acquisitions (20 since March 2016), and our ambitious plans, which includes continued M&A, we are seeking a credible candidate to join us to further develop our tax department capabilities.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily.

In this role, we require someone who will manage and coordinate all tax accounts at local, state, and federal levels within a multiple entity structure. This includes setting up and closing tax accounts, handling secretary of state registrations, and managing acquisitions to ensure all employment/payroll tax accounts are current. Additionally, you will conduct audits of divestitures and business mergers to ensure all employment/payroll tax accounts are accurately closed with filings as needed.

The successful candidate will support internal and external audits, ensuring that all work is performed in line with internal controls. You will analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance and provide valuable insights. The role also includes working on various ad-hoc projects, requiring flexibility and strong problem-solving skills. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of employment tax experience with a complex legal entity structure
  • Technology/Equipment’s: Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with ADP
