Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Senior Manager, Production Engineering 

Redwood Materials is seeking a Senior Manager of Production Engineering to play a pivotal role in building out our Battery Materials Campus. The manager will work closely with the team to manage high visibility, high value projects and will apply technical leadership skills to ensure the timely and efficient execution of the projects. 

Responsibilities will include:  

  • Support operations by leading teams through Continuous Improvement projects, downtime recovery, and preventive maintenance planning. 
  • Partner with cross functional engineering teams to implement projects in their area of operations. 
  • Build and lead teams that work closely with operations and maintenance departments to ensure that our processes are followed with operational rigor and aligned with engineering design.
  • Leading and participating in cross-functional teams to develop equipment.
  • Leading and participating in research and development to meet strategic objectives. 
  • Lead design concept/development efforts, working directly with engineers to vet/validate multiple different proposed solutions. 
  • Define engineering workflows and plans for the team. 
  • Partner with the project management team to identify and document all project design milestones and deliverables. 
  • Continuously monitor and measure all project design processes and activities to identify and communicate potential issues, risks, and problems and provide corrective action options to drive to resolution. 

Desired Qualifications  

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.  
  • 7+ years of Design of Mechanical Systems (Pipelines, Piping Systems, & Static Equipment).
  • Experience with large capital project planning and budgeting.
  • SME in the preparation of mechanical contract drawings and engineering specifications. 
  • Track record of successfully leading teams.
  • Professional Engineer registration for Nevada or ability to register preferred. 
  • Self motivated with a hands on approach who takes the initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!  

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
