Basic Job Functions:

 

Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of NCC Technical Representative with a focus on pre-paint products. Principal duties of the successful candidate will include:

  • Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts
  • Leading process optimization efforts to improve product quality, consistency, and cost performance across the production process
  • Providing technical support and training for all operational activities
  • Utilizing statistical process control (SPC) and data-driven analysis to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and commercial teams to resolve technical challenges and enhance product performance
  • Investigating product claims, performing root cause analysis, and interfacing with pre-paint customers to address technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Supporting the development and implementation of standardized practices that improve operational reliability and product quality
  • Traveling to customer locations, vendors, and other Nucor facilities as needed to support technical evaluations, claim resolution, and product development activities, including occasional travel on short notice.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have metallurgical knowledge and 5 years minimum experience with steel sheet products
  • Must have experience handling claims and interfacing with customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent steel production experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with pre-paint process and applications
  • Knowledge of ASTM standards related to pre-paint products
  • Experience performing technical review of customer RFQs, responding to customer concerns or complaints, and general questions with necessary urgency
